anyone know the correct procedure for installing a timing belt on a Ford Contour with a four cylinder,Zetek, 16 valve, dual cam, CVT engine? I have directions from the local dealer but there must be some steps missing. When I turn the crank two turns to check if the cams stay timed to the crank the exhaust cam lags the crank because of slack in the variable sprocket on the exhaust cam. What am I missing?

I’m with Kit on this. I think you need to bum a ride to the local parts store and get a manual before proceeding any farther.
