I was told that I have a damaged tie rod. What is that and what would be a reasonable cost to replace?
The tie rod connects your steering. If it fails, all kinds of bad things might happen up to and including death.
Ties rods, themselves are about $25. Installation is maybe a half-hour to an hour. The cost varies a lot depending on where you live. Be prepared to pay for an alignment after replacement.
