Think these cars are all gone?

not exactly the most reliable cars. but they do look good

Back when wide whitewalls on an XKE was in style.

Some probably have become parts donors for others but there are specialists who restore and resto-mod these.

Of all the cars of that era I bet that group of XKEs had a better survival rate than most. They were always ‘special’.

I’m wondering out of the remaining ones still left , how many have V8 swapped engines now…

The 6’s were very durable engines, but the array of carburetors and the Lucas ignition system drove people nuts.

In college I looked at one of those on the used car lot but they wanted more than the $500 I could scrape up. Their loss. Bet they are sorry now.

… or, for more forward-thinking drivers (like Prince Harry…) , perhaps a swap to EV status:

Great, a Jag with more wiring issues…

A former colleague at an aftermarket shock absorber company in California searched for 18 months for an XJ6, the sedan, still with the stock 6 to develop replacement shocks. All had been converted to Chevy V8s. They gave up and offered shocks for the engine swap version.

On, off, flicker as they say.
