Thermostat problems? coolant leak and overheating

Check again in a few months. These clamps can loosen a bit until they bed in.

Alright! No more leaks! Coolant temps were 198 to 210 after a 30 min drive!

Thanks a lot guys for your help and tips! This is my first time fixing my own car. Donā€™t think I wouldā€™ve made it without you guys. Thanks a bunch!

I can see some oil leaking in the valve cover. I am going to work on that next!

Thanks! I will!

If you want to try an experiment, see what happens if you disconnect the coolant temp sensor. Iā€™m guessing the radiator fan will spin all the time then. Youā€™d think the carā€™s designers would want it to be a fail safe design, so if the temp sensor isnā€™t working the fan spins 100% of the time to prevent the engine from overheating. Be aware that if you disconnect that sensor, the check engine light will probably come on.

No idea. As I recall there are actually two different versions of that engine, and the method might be different depending on which you have. If all else fails you can always remove the top radiator hose and fill it that way. Check your owners manual too.

Sure I will give it a try. Thanks a lot George for all the help!
