I have a 1999 Jeep Wrangler. When I first start the Jeep and drive somewhere everything is perfect. After I stop, go into the store and come back, that’s when the problem starts. The idle will begin normal and then intermediately drop very low. If I put the Jeep in gear then it lurches forward slows and lurches again, etc. I push the clutch in and the idle rises and falls again. Eventually the idle corrects it self and all is well. But this symptom will last approximately 5 minutes. I’m stuck. Thanks in advance for your help.
Sounds like a sensor in the fuel system is acting up, or perhaps the main computer module. Can you check to see if any error codes are show up on a scan of the car’s computer.
The dealer did not find any error codes. They did replace the motor to the Idle air control but this has not corrected the problem.
