The economics of the car-rental business

Arg, I should have read your post before I posted☹️

One of our neighbors is from Minnesota. I asked her about 20 years ago if she would move back and she said no way, it’s much too cold.

It’s all relative. I’ve told people here in NH that I moved here for the weather. They look at me like deer-in-headlights. Compared to where I grew up (Pulaski NY) winters here are NOTHING.

I don’t know if I could handle the cold now, but loved it when I was a kid. Walk two blocks to an outdoor ice skating rink. Head to a lake for ice fishing. Doing donuts with my car on unplowed parking lots.

Buuuut… You usually don’t have to download another ‘app’ to go the car rental route.

30 years ago, I was driving my 3/4 ton bonus cab pickup with an 8’ plow out onto the ice to plow a spot to ice fish. We were on our knees hoping the auger would be long enough and we would be strong enough to punch through the ice. It wasn’t uncommon to have a week of 25 below F weather.

I haven’t been ice fishing in 15 years. The ice is to thin to walk on with your gear and you could make a hole with the heel of your boot- followed by you going in.

It’s not age related memory issues, winters aren’t what they used to be in many places…

I dry with TP, but a lot less than wiping takes.

I bet you can figure it out yourself.

The only toilets that don’t use gravity are the ultra-low ones with the pressure tanks.

They may have stored it for off-loading in port. Taking a cruise sounds disgusting to me.

There’s special TP made for septic tanks.

On a farm? What a waste. We composted ours.

Lee Marvin drove one before he made money as an actor. He called it ‘honey-dipping’.

Those great 12" ducts for non-forced air.

Cousin in Minneapolis moved back from San Fran for a super supportive friend group. Works from home so just bundles up in winter. The rest of the year makes up for the cold.

Some like to ski, fish, snow mobile, etc in the winter. But it’s a great time to just relax, read, or whatever you want to do inside. Most house are at 70 degrees. Garages are nice too.

Now there was a great actor

This was one of his better movies, imo

And Angie Dickinson was in it

First time poster Flagged. Post aimed at me and I don’t even know what was posted.

I foolishly thought this thread was about the car rental business.

No advertising allowed.

My mistake, I thought you were posting about the now-blocked ad. You’re right, this shifted (watch that spelling!) in a septic/TP direction…

@technoseo08_191321 You have had a post just like this one removed because it was Flagged as Spam . Why are you tagging me ?

Technoseo post was flagged as spam, with a link to a limo company in it as a 1st time poster and it was flagged and then the flag was removed and the link stayed??

But Tester made a comment about a belly button and I quoted it is with a laughing emoji (NO words) and it was flagged and removed?? And one of Georges was flagged and removed with a link pertaining to the OP and was less spam then the one above that had the flag removed??..
Some people on here need to grow up… gezzz

I guess I:missed all the excitement. Tester is normally pretty serious for him to make a belly button comment.

Things are not super active here anyway so agree the self appointed flag police should just lighten up a little. It’s not helping.

I’ve seen this kind of thing ruin good sites before. All it takes is a couple bellyachers to cloud the whole place.

I have no idea what year I came here but about the same as tester I think, way back over 25 years. I remember a kid that went by gunner that then got picked on by a retired gunnery sarge that went by gunney Finally chased the kid away. There probably are 50 others that should still be here but the click chased them away. The latest one we all know. You don’t have to like everyone and are free to not read the posts.

It’s like the 1st day of the (updated) site or something… lol

Not sure who you mean.
