More to do with a female dog that hasn’t been spayed… lol
Beachin’ about…
Understood, lol!
As a kid I grew up on a river and at 10-years old, I had my own powerboat (10’ runabout with a 10HP outboard…), and I can testify that even catching only 3-fish, that a bad-day fishing is better than a good-day doing anything else…

Here’s a composite of four more reasons:
Yeah, ask a Gen-Z or -Alpha which image is of the real Titanic and see what happens.
If you think that’s bad, imagine what’s being done to news still and video imagery nowadays!
It’s crazy to see that the average price of a new car is now over $50,000. I don’t know how regular people are supposed to afford that. Most of us are already dealing with rent, bills, groceries, and everything else going up. Now even a basic new car feels like a luxury. I think a lot of people will just stick with their old cars longer or buy used instead, because new prices just don’t make sense anymore.
Yes, $50K is a very scary number, but the average cost of a new car like a Civic, Corolla, or Sentra is nothing like $50K. It’s $26,947, lower than in December of last year. Cars like Accords and Camrys average $33,597.
+1
The “average price” of a new vehicle is impacted by the reality that people are paying $70k–and sometimes more–for a large crew cab pickup or a large SUV. Just because the “average cost” of new vehicles is high, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t reasonably-priced new vehicles being offered to consumers.
Well said. The last two luxury SUV I tested were over $105K. They had virtually no features that a car costing less than half that price offer.
That average number does not really mean much to me. There are vehicles new that don’t cost anywhere near 50000.
I bought a base model 2025 Camry LE earlier this year
Not even CLOSE to $50K
I’m not going to say what I paid, but you can spend a few minutes snooping around and get an idea
That is a mid-sized car that could comfortably seat 4, imo
Should be big enough to drop off 2 kids in the morning, but maybe not the right kind of vehicle to take on a trip with the kids, luggage and the family dogs
I’m a “regular” person with modest pay and I was able to pay for that car
I truly believe MANY people are bad at financially planning and also are bad ad determining what is necessary and what is a luxury
expensive cruises, $15k trips, daily Starbucks runs and such things aren’t necessary, imo
I don’t go on those cruises, $15k trips and I make my coffee at home. I’ll occasionally go to Starbucks and hang out with friends, but that’s not on a daily basis
Absolutely. The city where I live recently changed from sending out the utility bill every 2 months to every month. That’s the way it’s been just about everywhere I’ve ever lived–the electric and water are due every 2 months. Anyway, the utility said they did this to help ease the cost and help customers plan better. As if when the bill comes has anything to do with how much it is.
Few years ago a friend bought a new travel trailer. He asked me if I thought his Tundra would tow it OK, I replied that the Tundra would pull it just fine. After a few weekend trips he announced that he was in the market for a new truck. I asked him why. He said the Tundra pulls the trailer like it’s not even there, but he has to stop for gas every 150 miles. So he bought a $92K F250 just so he can go 300 miles without refueling. Like that’s a necessity…
Any excuse will do. People can rationalize anything.
The cost of the travel trailer plus the 92000.00 truck will pay for a lot of nice motel rooms and lodges.
I just read on Jalopnik that destination fees are increasing a lot. Ford, GM, and RAM half ton pickup fees are going from $1995 to $2595, an increase of 30%.
Gotta recover the tariff costs everywhere they can
Maybe it’s the lack of math being taught but many don’t seem to understand the meaning of average. One car at $10,000 and one car at $100,000 but the average is $55,00. Gulp.
WTH is wrong with reverse mortgages?
My county did this with the water and sewage bills… they said the same thing,; “Will not cost a cent more and it will make it easier for folks to pay a little at a time…”
What they did not mention was that the water meter has a fee and the fee did not get cut in half… Now we have to pay twice as much for the meter fee and there are taxes and fees that are more customer based rather than usage based…
And there are those who do not pay via some bank app, so they are also paying twice as much sending a check in by mail for postage…
So, he either has a 34 gallon fuel tank or the optional 48 gallon fuel tank. If a gallon of gas weighs about 6.3 pounds a gallon then that means that he is carrying about 240 pounds of gas with the smaller tank or about 300 pounds with the larger thank…
Well, that might help to explain when he is getting less than 10 miles per gallon…
The difference in weight between the truck with the 34 gallon tank and the 48 gallon tank when full is 1%. That seems like a negligible difference to me.
