The good news is that it has an incredibly long range, and–IMHO–is very nicely styled. The bad news is that its pricing starts at $110k.
I’ll stick with my 600-mile range hybrid right now.
+1
My PHEV has a range of only 550 miles, but I’m very happy with it.
Where do they get materials to make battery? What country?
Ah, Korea. Almost like China. Korea has raw material to make batteries?
I don’t give a bleep about steel cases. What’s inside?
Probably many. What countries do we get Steel from to make body panels? What country to we get computer chips from? What country do we get electronics from? What country do we get oil from for ICE engines? What country do we get tires from?
I can’t find explicit information, but Lucid uses batteries from both Samsung SDI and LG Chem. Both have plants in the US and are building more plants in the US. If not here, then probably in South Korea until US production is ramped up. Lucid cars don’t qualify for the federal tax credit, but the MSRPs are all over $55,000 and we can’t use the list of qualifying cars at fueleconomy.gov to tell us.
