Oregon, it isn’t the trace from one bulb that makes it seem “ungreen” me…it’s the combined traces from millions of bulbs annually, perhaps hundreds of millions. When the environmentalists talk of auto emissions, they look at the aggregate. It seems a paradox to me that they’re not looking at the trace mercury amounts the same way. I’ve yet to see how much mercury they’re alleged to prevent.
I like Mike’s thoughts; recycle first, then burn the rest to generate power.
