… when it comes to the rate of fatal accidents!
I suspect that it has more to do with driver behavior and reliance on the “self-driving” feature than with the construction/design of their vehicles, but… quien sabe?
The author pretty much agrees with you. Me too. I can tell you from personal experience that FSD leaves a lot to be desired. I got a limited subscription for free during the summer and I was not impressed. They have a long way to go before I’d consider paying anything for it, let alone the $8000 they want.
Just had dinner with two friends who each own a Y. They both thought the FSD was aggressive on the factory setting, one had to adjust the options to feel at all comfortable with it. Neither will be paying for it.
I’ve had to adjust the alert settings for my Model 3. It was giving me a warning that I was going to hit a car despite being far enough away that iI ignored the curve in the road. I changed the alert to a less aggressive setting and I don’t get false warnings anymore.
I hope FSD works better when we have flying cars.
Tesla’s FSD is considered a Level - 2 of SAE standard. There are 6 levels. There are only a handful of cars that have reached Level - 3.
