You get a temporary tag for transport from the state you’re buying the vehicle from. Then when you get it to the final destination you register it there.

I believe Shift will use a dealer plate to deliver the car, they don’t need a Texas temporary movement permit.
Not complicated, have the car delivered to the sheriffs office for the VIN inspection, then go to the DMV for the permit or registration.
I have purchase many used cars, getting a permit is like getting a hall pass. I don’t have apprehension as others.
