Suzuki Reno Car Alarm Problems

Hi all,

I have a 2005 Suzuki Reno with almost 50,000 miles that has recently started having problems with it’s alarm. The alarm has started going off randomly with no cause. We did move to a house in the woods and I thought that maybe it was being attacked by squirrels (it made for a fun mental picture at least), but it will do this anywhere now. I also noticed that sometimes the car won’t beep when I lock it using the keyfob, but most of the time it does. I tried opening and closing all of the doors and the hood, but I’m still having the problem with the alarm going off whenever it feels like it. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be going on? Thanks so much!

If your vehicle has a motion (knock) sensor, it may be that bear that comes by and pushes against it which sets off the alarm.
The sensitivity of some sensors may have changed. These may be adjustable. Check your Owner’s Handbook. Or, you may have to seek the services of an automotive security and alarm specialist. Check for one in the telephone Yellow Pages.
