SUV has intermittent problems going down steep hills

2005 Buick Rendezvous

Problem 1: Driving down a steep hill and SUV turned off, lights flashing on dashboard. I was able to start on flat surface. Battery retailer said battery was fine and I had plenty of gas.

Problem 2: SUV parked with front end pointed downward on hill. Could not get engine to turn over. Had to be jump started. Battery retailer again said no problem with battery and again I had plenty of gas.



Please help!

I’d check the inertia switch that shuts off the fuel pump in case of a crash.
