2004 Outback, 70K miles. Has developed “clunk” when turning at slow speed, steering wheel locked - either right or left. Doesn’t happen when car sits overnight, or driven less than 10 miles. Axle? Cv joints?
Are the four tires matched in size/make/model/tread depth?
i believe so, but I will look again. I had already pulled both fronts, thinking brakes (lots of pad left), or stuck caliper (don’t think so), but was thinking about rotating tires to see if “clunk” (it’s not a subtle noise) goes away.
The other important question is this an automatic or manual transmission. If automatic lookup(owners manual) or find the FWD fuse and remove and see if it still happens.
