Struts

I need new front struts on my 2000 Toyota Camry.

What would be the best brand to use here?

I like a smooth ride but I like to drive fast too.

Thanks very much.

I would buy the name brand like Gabriel or Monroe with the best price. You can buy the performance strut but you give up some comfort and pay a higher price. It’s up to you.

I have Monroe Quickstruts on my 98. The ride is fine, but I hate the parts. If I’m lucky, I get 18 months on a set before I’m taking them back for replacement under warranty (the strut mounts are horrifically noisy). The car is properly aligned and everything - but they go from nice and quiet to rattletraps in no time flat.

I hear you both, but I’ve also heard about KYB and Bilstein. I’m hearing those are the way to go.

Any other suggestions?

You can’t go wrong with either of those brands DRay, but they’ll probably cost a bit more.

They may well be worth the extra cost. You’ll drive on them a long time.
