After driving for a while, I hear a screechy kind of moaning sound whenever I turn the steering wheel. I thought it was low power steering fluid, but I’ve had it topped off twice. I also got the wheels aligned and it went away for about two days, but it’s back and louder than ever!
You might try having the power steering fluid flushed.
I’ve done this to power steering systems to eliminate pump noise. And it works most of the time. If it doesn’t, then the power steering pump is worn and will require replacement.
