Hi,
I have a 2002 liberty that usually starts fine. The battery is less than a year old and sounds strong when starting.
19 times out of 20 the car starts fine but on the 20th time i hear a click and that’s all (no start). If I turn the key again a few seconds later it starts fine.
This morning I heard 6 or 7 clicks before starting as usual so my worry meter has now moved into the red zone.
Any ideas?
Chris
The first thing I’d try is take apart battery connections and clean them good.
After cleaning all the battery connections, I would have the starter checked out. This type of problem is often called a “flat spot” by mechanics; depending on the position of the armature, there may or may not be contact, and hence the “no start”.
