Stalling Honda

I have a peculiar problem with our Honda Accord and am looking for advice on how to go about diagnosing it. It is a 1998 with approximately 148K miles and I am the original owning. While driving and without any type of warning the car will shut off - everything stops. Then a nano-second later it will start back up by itself. On some occasions when it does start up again all the lights on the instrument panel will come as if the key had been used to start it. I don’t know where to start looking to get to the bottom of this and any suggestions will be appreciated.

I suspect the ignition switch. Call the Honda dealer about a recall on 1998 Honda ignition switches (the switch part, not the lock cylinder part). If a recall, the repair won’t cost you anything (and, it’s free).

Yes, I had the same problem and it was the ignition switch.
