For some unknown reason my speedometer is acting goofy. Started about a year ago, that all of a sudden the speedometer would drop to 10 mph, when I had been on the highway at 60 to 65 mph… It’s happening more and more frequently, if I rap on the front of the plastic covering the speedometer it will sometimes return to “normal”, if this does not work, then it will eventually come back… What is the problem? This is a 1995 year car.

That pretty much indicates that the speedometer head requires replacement.
