Speed Cameras are being installed in school zones

And how many smokers outlived so called angels ?

My point is: the boastful and overly confident man is often the one to drop off the tree.

Mistakes happen. Get over yourself.

Here you state - A disabled person shouldn’t need to give up their independence over a law forcing them to, and this seems to be the case for many disabled people with regards to stopping for the school bus on both sides of the road, even on a divided highway. I’m probably the only disabled person you know who have an issue with school bus laws but I know several disabled people who do and only travel on back roads since the law is now enforced.

Then you said this - However, one doesn’t need to have a mental disability to freak out at school buses that pop out of no where at every so corner with a jail sentence warning.

Then this - I’m still speechless as to how my lawyer beat the case because the camera clearly showed I had enough time to stop for the bus, and the arms were out for a period of time when I drove pass on the other side of the road.

Then this - There are absolutely no good reasons for traffic on the other side of a divided highway to stop for a school bus, and here in NY, there are no exceptions such a barrier or whatnot.

Your own words is how you are judged. And I stand by what myself and others have said. You are a lousy driver. I have no idea if it’s your HDCP or not. But no one would ever drive like you do.

I failed to see how what I said caused me to be judged. True, I had no idea how I missed the school bus on that very day, and I wonder if I was daydreaming at that moment because I couldn’t recall passing a school bus shown in the video I was sent. Daydreaming is a common occurrence people experience while driving. Thats what I think happened. I don’t really know.

What I know, though, is that you shouldn’t treat your son or daughter the way you treat me on this subject. Mistakes happen and mistakes are necessary for people to improve themselves.

Also, on that day I had the flu and roasting with fever.

Still, I don’t believe traffic needs to stop for a school bus that is stopped on the other side of a divided highway. Such a rule needs to go.

Anyways, you are firm on your take on the matter and we can settle here. Have a great day.

Please do yourself a favor, take a driver improvement course, preferably one that includes behind the wheel sessions.
I had the opportunity to drive a police cruiser, Crown Vic, on a closed course. They changed how I steered the car with hand placement. Final portion of the course, at speed stop between orange cone, just hit the brakes and let the ABS do the rest.
I think you would benefit.
Remember your posts on train tracks? Granted a car in front of you that stops for no reason could be a problem, but I alway look for an escape path before crossing RR tracks.

Heh, heh, tried pacing a Brightline while running parallel on US 1, nooo! I won’t drive more than 70 in a 55MPH road🤪

Yes, I remember and the suggestions were helpful. I thank the community of CarTalk for that.

I’m glad you mentioned this because now I can share what experience I’m having since adding this to my driving skill.

I can’t recall the exact date but I stopped at an intersection with the traffic light on green because the street I was entering had jammed, and if I had went through , I would have blocked the intersection.

A vehicle behind me honked their horn and became upset despite my turn signal was on and I could not go until the traffic was clear.

Identical scenario happened at the train track in recent months. I waited for the car in front of me to go first. A guy behind me got upset and honked his horn.

I like to engage in conversation with police officers at the park. I’ve always been this way. This is why most cops around town know who I am. I told the cop the result of what happened when I do what I described here, and she said “ That’s their problem. You are doing the right thing. Just ignore them “

The thing is: it puts pressure on me when the people behind are honking.

Agreed, that is their problem. I have had vehicle go around me that ended up with part of the vehicle still on the track.
