Spam Survey?

Fidelity does offer cryptocurrencies on their trading platform… (I am a customer)

I wouldn’t touch it but they do offer it. Maybe the others you listed do, too, don’t know.

Ah but now you can add those $99 NFT trading cards to your 401, or can you?

We have a spoof checker on our VOIP line. It redirects about half of them. We rarely answer that phone. If we recognize someone leaving a message, we’ll pick up. Most of the time there is no message, and we assume it’s spam.

Yeah the land line is unplugged now (for a few years), we were getting 18+ spam calls a day…

On my cell phone, if you are not in my contacts list or I recognize the number and or caller ID doesn’t name you, I will not answer it, if it is important, they can/will leave a message or text me one…

Same here, though landline is unplugged, calls show up on my TV, part of bundle.

I assume you can turn that off, I would hate that… lol

Possibly, never bothered, the remote clears it. I have Spectrum, my old cable box allowed me to review all call made to my land line, I would occasionally look just in case there was a legit call. The new and improved box does not allow a look back at incoming calls. Over the years the call volume has really dropped from 10+ a day to 1 or 2 a week.

As far as the cellphone I do as you do, if not a known number, I ignore, legit calls will leave a voice mail. Plus many of these call are flagged by the phone provider as possible spam.

I think my car displays possible spam. Not sure, been a while.

My wife jokingly will tell me my girl friend is calling when a “Spam Likely” call comes in… lol

I normally get 1 to 3 or 4 a day, I check call history and none have ever called before, I’m guessing all computer generated numbers, as lots of them are local, but most are from wherever…

Don’t even get me started! I swear there is a sucker born every second. I get folks who get taken every two weeks as customers. No amount of education, printing out articles for them to read about the scams, etc. will stop them from doing the same thing again. Often their “friends” are sharing crap on social media that is just clickbait set by scammers.

The original scam being discussed here can apply to cars or anything else for that matter. This started with the PS5 giveaway scam. They needed money for shipping. What they really want is to get your information and credit card to rip off.

I am on outdoor forums and some scammer is constantly posting that Dicks Sporting Goods is giving away kayaks or a Yeti cooler if you pay them $10. This is the same deal.

I am getting several scam calls a day as well and like to mess with them. I tell them my name is some high profile athlete or actor. I even tell them my name is Donald Trump and sometimes they don’t even know who that is…..
