I have a 2000 Lincoln Continental, and absolutely love it. There is a problem, however, in that if I go around a corner fast, it sounds like there are concrete blocks rolling around in the trunk. I have cleaned out the trunk, and can’t find anything that could be causing such a noise; does anyone have ideas/suggestions as to what could be causiing this and a fix for it? Thanks!
I’m going to go out on a limb here since I’m unfamiliar with this car’s drivetrain.
If this is a rear wheel drive system with independent rear suspension, you have CV joints in the rear axles. The sound you describe is a common symptom of worn or damaged CV joints. I test drove a used Jag once that suffered this problem.
Other possibilities include strut mounts and bushings.
