Has anyone been sucessful with using the standard size apply valve (V84754-98K) on a 1997 4t60e? Is the oversize with reaming really required? This car has not set a slip code, just fell shudder at temp.

I always ream them. But thats mostly because I have a full set of reamers which leaves no question on the size of the replacement sleeve and valve assy. Reamers are very expensive. And when you are rebuilding a customers transmission, you go for perfection…Its the valve body which wears, not the valve.
