Back when Florida had safety inspection seems things were worse, as long as the inspection sticker was current the LEOs ignored burned out headlights, bald tires etc. the inspection stations were purpose built, operated by state employees, with minimal training. Had a motorcycle fail because high beam indicator could not be seen. I then found I simple had to increase RPMs to see the indicator in the daytime sun.

Yes. I reminded him to get new tires. He got new tires the next day.
