When I was in high school one could get a gold class ring or, more cheaply, a ‘white gold’ class ring, a gold-palladium alloy.

Tacoma police and Titus-Will Toyota have partnered on a program to etch a unique id and orange paint called CATCON-ID that’s reportedly reduced thefts by 79%. Completely free but is first come first served.

I also can’t read the article, as I’ve reached my limit of free NY times articles for the time being

As for catalytic converter thieves, I think they’re parasites with no redeeming qualities whatsoever

they’re breathing oxygen that could be used by more deserving people
