That’s a clever way for a student or part-time worker to make a little extra spending money there @Propane_Car! Lots of non-longer used stuff like that just gets thrown away to the garbage truck, and when you help it to get recycled, beyond making a little something for your trouble, you also reduce the landfill problem. Everybody wins. Good for you.
When I was a school bus driver that lived in an old farm house on a huge lot surrounded on three sides by forest preserve. There was both a barn and garage on the property. Instead of a job in high school, he bought and parted out cars on ebay. Drove to school his senior year in his own Viper.
