Apparently, VW Group and BMW have also gone back to the ABS-based tpms. I guess the ABS sensor is technically in the wheel assembly.

I have found them to be extremely accurate
Let me qualify that statement
The systems which display individual pressures on the driver’s multifunction display are very accurate
If using a scan tool, the pressures displayed for the individual sensors are very accurate
