My Avalanche started making a squeak that sounds like it is coming from the front wheels, definately the front end. As I acelerate it gets louder to a squeal. If I take my foot off the accelerator it subsides. When I step on the gas it gets louder. It only makes the noise in drive and when going forward.

Year, mileage, and anything else you think might be helpful, please.
Avalanche! The name says it all.
You might check your serpentine belt, the one that drives accessories, such as the alternator power steering pump, etc. If these accessories are working okay (no dashboard warning lights), and the belt looks worn, replace the belt. Proper tensioning of the belt is important. There should be an underhood label explaining how to install the belt. They tend to squeal in the conditions you describe when worn.
front pads on the squealer, brakes make it shut up?
That sounds right to me. The car is a 2005 with 100,000 miles. It sounds like a slipping belt. Also, as the outside temp goes up and the engine warms up it seems to do it more.
The noise may also be caused from a bad water pump bearing. When was the last time the cooling system was serviced?
