i have a 96 yukon and underneath a sheet ruisted off that seems to have protected some kind of container, i am thinking possibly the gas tank, and i was wondering if I should still be driving it, i really don’t want it to explode with me in it.
Get it checked out. It may be a heat shield. And yes, it may be protecting something critical. Can’t tell from here.
