Road rage

“This thing could probably survive a nuclear attck. Or at least a hurricane”.

Are you saying your mailbox would be a challenge for Crankshaft, the crotchety old school bus driver in the comic strip? I’ll bet on Crankshaft.

I was thinking of how ironic and hypocritical it is that some people rage against government entitlements, and attribute a sense of entitlement to liberal ideology, but when these same people get behind the wheel of a car, some of them have a different sense of entitlement; one that justifies aggressive driving and road rage.

I worked with guy who ran for Congress as a Libertarian here in NH (and almost one). His philosophy in driving a car was…“He’s ENTITLED to drive any way he wants no matter what. NOT Stopping for red-lights or stop-signs is NOT a crime. There should be no traffic laws at all. People should be allowed to drive any way they want. This is a free country.”

And trust me this guy did. I can’t tell you how many times this guy would pass me on I-93 in heavy traffic doing 90 weaving in and out of cars.

Jeez…let’s get personal. I didn’t say I was a rager…my point was that nobody cares what caused an issue in the first place. I’m not justifying road rage…just an observation.

You are out of line…work on it.

I live in Kentucky where “road rage” is almost non-existent. The reason? It’s simple…anyone can legally carry a weapon as long as it’s not concealed. Most people do so road rage is rarely a problem.

It’s usually printed right on the mailbox, “Property of the U.S. Postal Service.”

Tell that to the"Mailbox Baseball" crew around here on thier rampage. They very seldom get caught.Do you think if they knew it was a Federal crime, they would reconsidor?-Kevin

That might work in KY,
Least Courteous Cities (Worst Road Rage):
– Miami
– Phoenix
– New York
– Los Angeles
– Boston

Most Courteous Cities (Least Road Rage):
– Minneapolis
– Nashville
– St. Louis
– Seattle
– Atlanta
I think it carries onto grocery stores too, remembering shopping cart smashing into my, heels in Boca Roton FL, no apologies only an echo of no bargains here!

If I am out of line, I apologize.

I guess my point is that I don’t really care about what the person being raged against did. No matter what the person does, it doesn’t excuse or justify the rage.

The topic is road rage, not people who drive like idiots. In my view, people who drive like idiots deserve justice, not rage. Two wrongs don’t make a right.

I think they know it is a federal crime and they don’t care.

You ain’t seen nothing until you’ve been in South America. Been to three different countries in South America…and they all drive the same…COMPLETELY NUTS…Every place I’ve been is very large cities (5+ million). And the cabbies are the worse…They make Boston drivers look like Drivers Ed teachers. It really takes sometime to get use to.

sounds like none of you guys ever drove in TJ.

The nice thing about South America and Central America is they drive a bit nutty but no one gets really mad. There does not seem to be ownership/entitlement of the road by drivers. If someone wants to pass uphill the car being passed and oncoming car simply move to the side. No one gets too upset.

It also seemed non-existent in 1st world EU(France, Germany, even Italy) countries I have driven in.

I don’t get that comi in our local papers. Sounds like a good comic. I wish we did get it.

Apology accepted and you make a good point.
