Is 1400.00 dollars a reasonable price to replace the expander tank, thermostat, hose, and battery on a BMW 325i?
I’m not familiar with “expander tank”, and I have two 325i s and an M3. Should I start saving now?
Try a BMW forum or get a 2nd opinion/diagnosis/estimate at another shop to put price into check. If you are asking here you likely don’t fully trust the shop and not a bad idea with a pricier repair.
It’s actually the expansion tank and it works with the radiator to supply coolant. It might be a good idea to have some extra cash on hand for those high dollar repairs.
Thanks for the advice.
Hmmm, let’s see, a $30 coolant recovery tank, a $15 thermostat, a $20 hose, and a $120 battery in a regular car, plus $1200 in labor? Seems a little heavy to me.
