- My rear hatch registers as open on the dash when it is shut and locked. Should I replace the lock assembly in the door?
2. The interior lights won’t go off and I am assuming it is because the rear hatch won’t register as closed so I put them to the permanently off position.
3. My new battery keeps dying. What is draining it if all the lights are off including the interior lights???

Is there a switch on the rear door opening? It may need cleaning or replacing. If the switch is built into the lock assembly try spraying some CRC Electrical Contact Cleaner into the assembly to clean the switch contacts.
As for the battery, has the alternator been tested? Have you checked the interior light that are hidden? For example, ashtray, glove box, underhood, etc. My kids when they were younger would leave the reading lights on in our minivans. The lights are easy to miss if you’re not paying attention.
