Rattling Ford Taurus Transmission

Help! My 98 Taurus recently sprung a transmission fluid leak. I had that fixed, and afterward the transmission started rattling when in Drive but not being powered. I think that the transmission is still sort of engaged – while rattling the car will want to move forward. When I step on the gas, the rattling goes away.

What is going on?

This won’t help. With the engine running, shift the transmission up and down the gears slowly a few times. Whenever the fluid has been drained I think this should be done.

Check the flex connector on the exhaust pipe. A ring that holds the mesh on can come separated, and start to rattle.
