Recently my Ranger has developed a shudder and groan while driving and turning either direction. Any suggestions as to the cause of this?
2wd or 4wd?
2wd, manual transmission.
Does it do this only when you are moving, or will it do it if you turn the wheel while you are stopped?
It does it both while stopped and while moving.
I would then suspect that you have a power steering problem.
The year and mileage would be a big help.
I’d suspect either a failing power steering pump or failing ball joint(s). I’d want this checked out on a lift ASAP. If you have a failing ball joint it could be dangerous.
