I don’t agree with your answer today about brake noise on the Prius. I’ve seen the same thing going from Phoenix to Flagstaff to Phoenix - in weather that was dry enough that the brake can’t get wet. It has something to do with altitude chages - when I drive back to Phoenix, I still get a noise once or twice on the morning after I’m back, but then it stops.
It’s good to hear I’m not the only one with the noise, though.
We have also experienced strange noises from the Prius when the brake pedal is depressed when driving at high altitude. The first time was in Sequoia National Park three weeks ago and again last weekend in Yosemite National Park. My wife took it to the Toyota dealership and they were no help. They said the car was test driven but could not duplicate the problem since the car was at sea level. I guess they couldn’t figure out the car was at sea level until a mechanic had taken the car for a drive.
