Is it just me, or do the 4L80E transmissions slip a little? the reason why i’m asking is because i have the feeling that mine is. it does not seem to want to lose grip at the back end at takeoff, like other trucks of it’s model year. The truck is a 1996 Chevrolet 3/4 ton with a 350 Vortec. Please give me suggestions about what to do in this situation.
Brian
I’m not sure I understand your post.
I have a 4L80-E tranny in my '02 Tahoe and have no slip.

Are you thinking of the rear diff and writing about the tranny?
Like Roadrunner, I am also thinking that you might be confusing the transmission with the rear differential.
In that vein, is it possible that your truck has a limited-slip differential? An LSD, if it is working as it is designed to do, would prevent (or at least, limit) your rear wheels from breaking loose on takeoff.
