When slowing down from 60 to 40 mph I hear a faint peeping sound from under the car. I think this might be a U joint. Should I do something about it now or later. My 2002 Jeep runs perfectly otherwise. Thanks. Ed Glasser. Denver,Co 80206

My guess is your brake pads need replacing, ujoint typically will cause a clunking when shifting to forward or reverse. I would have a free brake check done somewhere before looking for bigger problems. There are brass implants in the brake pads that start to squeak when the pad gets worn indicating it is time for replacement.
