Twice I have been told by a “mechanic” that my PCM was bad and needed replacing. The first time I owned 2 crs with the same PCM so I just swapped them and the stalling problem stayed with the car not the PCM. The second time I called the local Chrysler dealer and they said they had a refurbished PCM in stock and if that didn’t fix the the problem they would just swap the old one back and charge me 1/2 hour labor. Again not the PCM.
" It’s got to be the computer" seems to be the refuge of “mechanics” who don’t know how to follow the diagnostic tree in the Mitchell’s Guide or don;t have the equipment to, or are too lazy.
