Yes, unless you park sideways.

It does not really matter unless you hare having a fuel pump problem.

When storing a vehicle in a barn for the winter-what steps should be taken?

I would add some fuel stabilizer and run the engine for a while. I would remove the battery and store it in the basement on a battery tender. No there is no special reason for the basement, but if it is in the barn it is just that much easier for someone to steal it.

Other factors for storage may be good depending on the car and the conditions in the barn. Most barns have rodents and they tend to cause problems.

Agree with Joseph; plug the air intake and exhaust, and wipe any road salt off the wires and hoses. Raccoons love the salt and can eat all your wiring and damage hoses.

Since many barns have birds in them, I would cover the car with a cotton or other light fabric cover. That will keep bird droppings off and still prevent corrosion which often form under a waterproof tight fitting cover.

A reminder that in my house in Mexico we get virtually no rodents or scorpions since I put in the ultrasonic repellers. If there is electricity in that barn, go to Home Depot or Lowes and buy several of them. Ours are much more powerful in Mexico, but several of the US weak ones should work, too.

When parking on an incline, turn the front wheels into the curb.

I would guess most readers will know what Roadrunner intended, but for the three who don’t, you want the front wheels turned so the car will have to go over the curb if the brakes fail.

We have an inclined driveway. We park our vehicles with the nose up. With all of them, if we are low on fuel, they may not start if the nose is down and we have to roll in down the hill with no power to get it to a flatter grade so the fuel will reach the pump. Then, they start, no problem.
