Parking SPOT in Boston for Sale

Don’t everyone jump at this - it’ll just drive the price up even higher.

Parking spots in Beacon Hill (Boston) are now selling for $750,000.00

I’ll take two.

It seems like parking in my own remotely located 6 car garage and having my Bentley meet me and whisk me home would be cheaper. After all, I already have my chauffeur driven Bentley and at least 5 collector cars plus my daily driver Porsche. I just need a convenient garage to park them in. Surely I can find something within about 5 miles of Beacon Hill for far less then $750,000.

Or I could pay $750,000 for bragging rights to a spot in the Brimmer Street Garage.

It must be nice to have that much disposable income.

Can you park an old economy car, with an approximate market value of $1500 in a $750k parking spot? Asking for a friend, of course.

Ive seen 2 spots in Manhattan sell for $one million.

This is just ONE reason why I never drive into Boston. I park at a T Station like Wellington on the Green Line and once in Boston - their public subway system is pretty good. Plus the city is very walkable.

Why do you go into Boston? I live near mpls and never go there. Too dangerous.

Dangerous? It’s far safer than many cities it’s size.

We go into Boston for Celtics or Bruins games a couple times a year. Also try to get in a Sox game. Wife and I will go into Boston for a play or see the Boston Pops or just Dinner.

About 1.5 years ago, Boston was rated as the second safest city in The US: Boston is nation's second safest city, according to new Gallup poll - CBS Boston

By contrast, the 20 cities that were on the most dangerous list are (in order of most dangerous to slightly-less dangerous):
Memphis, TN
St. Louis, MO
Little Rock, AR
Minneapolis, MN
Detroit, MI
Kansas City, MO
New Orleans, LA
Cleveland, OH
Birmingham, AL
Houston, TX
Milwaukee, WI
Orlando, FL
Baltimore, MD
Atlanta, GA
Stockton, CA
NYC
Phoenix, AZ
Los Angeles, CA
Las Vegas, NV
Miami, FL

Baltimore is #13 on that list but I have no problem going into the city. It all depends on the destination and when I go. I’ll go to my daughter’s house anytime. She lives in the Hampden neighborhood and it a safe place. She lived in Federal Hill for about 10 years and it used to be as safe as Hampden. It’s not so safe anymore. The last three years she live in Federal Hill was in a condo with an underground garage and two entry doors with electronic locks. Just about anywhere is safe during the day, especially before 2pm.

Mpls is top 4 dangerous.

Oh for goodness sake. My wife goes into Minneapolis every day. Never an issue.

Good grief. That was a poll, not a study. The poll asked "Now thinking about some large cities, both those you have visited and those you have never visited, from what you know and have read, do you consider each of the following cities to be safe to live in or visit, or not?"

You’re posting the results like it was a rating - it was a poll. Big difference.

The results are slightly different when you look at the stats. Overall, not much difference between perceptions and stats:

Now Baltimore is #3! I’m still going and avoiding bad areas, especially after 2pm.

I have a college friend that is a big train buff. I saw him last May and he asked if it’s safe to visit the B&O Train Museum in downtown Baltimore. I told him it’s quite safe as long as you leave before dark. He lives in Philadelphia and I’m sure that there areas he wouldn’t go into.

“Slightly” different? Your original poll list has Minneapolis at #4 and your new BBC list doesn’t have Minneapolis on the list at all. After all, Minneapolis is what started this discussion.

I’m happy - and a little surprised - my fair city, San Antonio TX, isn’t on the list.
