Parking Light won't come on

Hi all,

I have a 2003 Chevrolet Malibu LS.

The bulb for the parking light on the right headlight doesn’t come on, it only comes on when the turning signal is activated. I’m not sure if it’s the bulb or the fuse? If it’s the fuse, do I need to buy electrical gloves and disconnect the battery before I “operate”

That’s a double filament bulb.

Which means one filament is for the parking light circuit and the other is for the turn signal circuit.

The parking light filament in the bulb is probably burnt out.

You don’t have to disconnect the battery as long as you don’t turn the lights on when replacing the bulb.

Would this bulb be fine?

Instead of guessing just go to a parts store and let them sell you the correct bulb

Wrong bulb. That’s a headlight bulb. You probably need a 3157A, but a parts store can look up the bulb for you. Your owners manual will also have the information.

You’re the best!

Here’s a video that shows how to replace the bulb.

They show an Oldsmobile in the video, but the procedure is the same.
