IF it is properly adjusted and operational it will slow you down eventually but, whatcha gonna do if there’s little kids playin’ close to the road and one of 'em runs out on the road after a ball in front of you and you ain’t got nowheres to go?

Even at 30 mph you ain’t stoppin’ short.

Oh you’ll get stopped eventually alright. If I was in the passenger seat? I’d be pullin’ on the door handle! Ha ha ha.

I assume you would do that AFTER down shifting to 1st gear, which would likely slow the car much faster than the parking brake. Trust me on this, I have had it happen when a brake like failed.
