Oldest or Highest Mileage Timing Belt: Who Holds the Record?

I had a 1992 Plynouth Voyager at 14 years old and 180,000 miles on it when it went to the junkyard because of rust… The 3.0 Mitsubishi V6 still had the original timing belt on it.

How about the worst time to lose your timing belt - ? back in the 70’s , mt volvo wagon 49,000 miles - and just out of warrantee … a real pain in a the ass as it was on a highway with the kids. Never bought another volvo.

An old thread revived.
Just don’t know how many miles. 1972 Pinto, purchased as a beater in 1986, 98K on the odometer that I later discovered was broken. Timing belt failed as backing out of my driveway. Got a new belt, took about 30 minutes, lined up the marks, installed the belt and it immediately started. Fortunately a non-interference engine.
