Noisy Caddy

A friend has a '99 Cadillac Seville front wheel drive. While driving through a rainstorm, the traction light came on and stayed on and the car made a grinding noise that seemed to come from directly behind the dash. The car has been worked on by a dealer several times since the initial incident. Within about four days following each repair attempt, the traction light is on again and the noise, which my friend describes as sounding like rocks are being pulverized, returns. I don’t know exactly what the repairs entailed except that the car was thoroughly cleaned in the wheel wells and underneath and various computer components were changed out. Has anyone else experienced this kind of problem? Any suggestions for what to check on?

Computer components changed out?

Your friend may have a faulty ABS wheel sensor causing the Traction light to come on as these two systems work together.
