I have a 2001 Nissan Sentra which has historically run very well. I recently bought another car and have had the Sentra parked for the last few weeks (May - June in Chicago). I tried to start it up the other day to give the engine some “exercise”, but the engine would not start. Plenty of turning power in the battery. Anything you can suggest I try to get it started in my drive way? I let the registration lapse so towing and driving presents some difficulties. I have plenty of time to try various checks that anyone may suggest.
Thank you.

Check for a fuel supply and spark.
From the vehicle sitting for so long, the fuel system probably needs to be reprimed.
To do this, turn the ignition switch to the run position so that the dash lights come on for two seconds, and then turn the ignition switch off. Repeat this a half a dozen times and then try starting the engine. Doing this cycles the fuel pump enough times to reprime the fuel system.
