I have a 2001 Maxima with the standard factory alarm, and it did something strange tonight (I think). Parked in my driveway, after being recently driven, it sounded like it let out a series of ten quick beeps from the horn. They were quieter than the usual alarm’s “beep beep” when you lock it using the remote keyfob, and relatively quick – ten beeps in probably under 3 seconds. Nothing at all like the normal alarm sequence.
Is this some kind of self-diagnostic? Google didn’t turn up anything helpful for me…
