Nissan CVT transmission

Can you use a transmission sealant in a CVT transmission?

I wouldn’t. Those transmissions use a very specific fluid. Add anything to it, and it may cause very expensive damage. Most transmissions have few seals, so what is leaking?

No. And running that CVT low on fluid will damage the drive belt/chain in very short order. Fill it with only the proper CVT fluid and have the leak repaired.

No way.

CVTs are fussy about the fluid they use, and the friction that gives the belts their power transmitting capabilityneeds a very specific fluid. Much like Ford Type F transmission fluid.

Don’t use anything not specified manual, and please get the leak fixed before youned a new trnasmission. Rebuilt ones are not available at this time. New ones run $3500 and up.
