I’m glad that you decided that almost all of the cars you mentioned are impractically expensive. And the affordable one is no longer manufactured. But dazed and disabled, we’ll plod ahead. I suggest that you wait until after January 1, when the Buick Regal will be available with a fun engine. Rumor has it that it will be less than $30,000. And it doesn’t have one ounce of unobtanium in it!
Checking local dealerships within a 10~20 mile radius will determine how many are on the road at any given time. Since the locals where I live cover Hyundai, Toyota, GM, Ford, Honda/Acura, Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep, you don’t see many VW, Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Mazda, Subaru, Suzuki, Nissan, etc. The closest dealerships for those are a good hour drive away. So, going for an out of town, uncommon brand may be the answer
