hi. i’ve got a 98 beetle that has started squeaking when i hit 30 mph or so. it’s quiet until 30, then i get a squeak that sounds like someone’s bouncing up and down on a bed. the squeaking stops when i slow down to about 15. it doesn’t squeak when the car’s not moving and i rev the engine. ideas?
It sounds like the suspension has worn parts or needs lubricating. When was the last time the suspension was checked and lubed?
i think that was done at my last scheduled maintenance. it was starting to squeak before that. i’ll check the paperwork and see what they did. thanks for the tip.
Time for new brake pads, or a failing wheel bearings could be a possibility.
lubrication sounds much more affordable …
