My parent’s 2006 Highlander (bought used in 2007 with 12,000 miles) is a lemon. Apparently half of that model year has a known problem in that the battery gets drained unless you drive it 5 miles or more every day. My parents are elderly and don’t do this. The Toyota service guy considered installing a “kill” switch to disable the drain when the car’s not in use, but decided against this for some reason. What can they do? They’ve run out of free AAA calls, and the car has left them stranded several times (including in the bank’s outside teller line). Any help is appreciated.
